You did an awesome job on these shorts, and introduced me to the Chataigne shorts too, so thank you for that! Maybe I’ll wait for Leisl + CO’s next sale and grab them then! ReplyCancel

Super cute! Thanks for an honest review. Linen is cute but beware, it stretch’s out after about 2hours of wear, gives saggy butt look if worn for longer!ReplyCancel
Linen is definitely a different animal! I have a pair similar to this style from JCrew that is 100% linen and they are in constant rotation. They are actually the reason I wanted to try these because they are similar and I wear them so much. I find that having a bit of cotton blended with linen helps it to be more stable. Thank you for the feedback, Lisa! ReplyCancel
What a beautiful dress! I have just found your blog and I love your fabric choices on all your dresses! Absolutely gorgeous! Nice job on the invisible zip with perfect pattern matching. And great fit. I will hunt for the pattern online. We are just going into winter here so I probably won’t sew another dress for a few months but I am inspired by your perfect dress! ReplyCancel

Loved the dress in my all-time favourite William Morris print. The pattern works so well with the design of the dress, and well done in getting the zip so accurately matched. I was alerted to this dress by my sister in NZ whose friend saw the dress in a The Quilters Companion magazine, so it has been around the world. Coincidentally on the day my sister emailed me about the dress I received in the mail two metres of that design fabric (but in black) which I ordered from a shop in the US. I am a some-time quilter, and love the fabrics, but now tend to make skirts, usually not with a pattern as the fabric ‘tells’ me what will work. Quilting is certainly a great way to get in touch with others who have a love of fabrics. Michele Hill, a well-known quilter in Aus, was really the one who made William Morris so well known in Aus. She has made many prize-winning quilts based on his designs, and written several wonderful books about her WM journey. I shall keep an eye on your blog! Cheers ReplyCancel

This is amazing. I’m planning on making my own “Strawberry Thief” dress, once I figure out a pattern and how much fabric I’ll need. Your photos make me really hopeful that my dress will turn out as cute as I picture it in my head– yours is absolutely adorable!ReplyCancel
