I’m actually spoiled rotten with a local thread shop that carries everything from Perle cotton to embroidery floss, cross stitch patterns, and other needlework supplies. I know some big box stores carry a small selection of Perle cotton too. :)
I had a quilting friend tell me if you want the kids to absolutely love their quilts don’t put batting in them and put minky on the back. It works. I just use a spray baste and the quilting is a breeze! My granddaughters (6 and 2) just love them.
