I have a whirlwind of a week happening here. Between trying to finish up two quilts (hand quilting one, machine quilting another), and preparing to head out of town for a few days, I’m feeling a little swamped. Excited, though, not overwhelmed. Today I’m thinking about a twin size Opposite Attract quilt. I wanted it...
Newish reader here and I am really enjoying your blog. I just wanted to chime in and say that I set aside the first 2-45 minutes of my youngest’s nap for special time with my eldest (before scooting her off to rest too.) I am definitely a schedule/routine person and find that if I have it planned in my day, it is much easier to make happen. We usually read or just talk (she is 5 and loves to chat) together. :)
my munchkin pretty much makes sure that i can’t ignore him. LOL! it’s 100% his time when he’s back from nursery school. of course this often means that i’ve had to dial back my project plans!
I too reserve some special time with my 5 year old while the younger one naps…sometimes I have ideas of what to do (she loves games and puzzles) but often she decides she’d rather build a fort together, or do chasing/rough housing type play. I leave it up to her, that seems to work best for us.
