Could you make this with one regular 30″ zipper? No head to head sliders? Gorgeous bag!ReplyCancel
Thank you, Kim! If you do make one for your Bible, let me know how it turns out! That’s an awesome idea! ReplyCancel

If you are thinking of trying this bag I would caution you against it. Seems simple but the instructions are very sparse. Pieces are missing from the cut out instructions abd being an older post there is no follow up or maintenance of comments on this post. Go buy a paid pattern with better instructions. Hopefully this saves you from getting to the end and being so stuck you throw the project away.ReplyCancel
Hi there, Kasey. I’m sorry you’ve had trouble with this. I have emails all the time about this pattern and how many folks have had success with it. If there’s something you have a question about please leave me a comment here or send me an email and I’m always happy to help. Like you said, this is a free pattern, but I’ve included everything that is needed and more to make a beautiful case. ReplyCancel

Hello, your travel cosmetics case is very pretty. There is a problem that I can not get the photos of the steps. How to do? I thank you for answering me so that I can make it.ReplyCancel
I’m not sure why the photos won’t load! They should auto load when you read the post as long as you don’t have the “reader” turned on on your browser.ReplyCancel

I have a huge collection of zippers, and didn’t want to buy one for this project. So I took two 22″ zippers and overlapped them at the bottoms to equal 30″. Then I sewed them together with a zigzag stitch where they met in the center and cut away the excess. Saved me having to hunt for the special zipper I needed and used up some of my zipper stash as well. (The center won’t be seen in the finished product anyway.)ReplyCancel
This is so pretty and will be very useful. Already have some fabrics to make one. d course I’ll go to Duckadilly and get more Thanks so muchReplyCancel
A few months ago, I was invited to be a part of a private swap. I believe there were ten of us from all around the globe. Anyway, we were assigned partners (who were a secret) and it was up to us to make a mini and some extras to suit our partners. I was...
That is one of the most amazing minis I have ever seen. AND you brought it to Quilt Market to have AMH sign it! Eeeeeee!! This will be cherished!ReplyCancel

Wow that mini is incredible!! All those hexies in all those fabulous prints is pure visual heaven! I love reading Ashley’s blog too, so I am sure she loved it (I have yet to stop over there)! Awesome work!!ReplyCancel
Let’s talk about Quilt Market! Before I get into the booths and the incredible talent I saw, I have to tell you a bit about my personal experience with the travel and being in a city! I’ll keep it short and show you the good stuff. I traveled to Minneapolis last week. It was the...
That would have been great! I stopped her on her way to speak to Heather Ross. I probably shouldn’t have, but I was a little starstruck. :)ReplyCancel

Wow Meredith! What an amazing adventure (despite the hairy start!). Lots of gorgeous photos and so jealous of you meeting AMH. Thanks for sharing xxReplyCancel
You got to see Tiger Lily! I think by the time it hits stores I’ll have talked myself into buying full yards of the entire collections. I am hearing such great things about Loominous too!
Glad you got a chance to travel away from your littles. I still haven’t since my daughter was born 3 years ago!ReplyCancel
Things have been quiet in this space for a week or so, but it hasn’t been so in real life. I’ve actually done more sewing in recent weeks in preparation for Quilt Market than I normally do in a month or more. I feel like I can’t even pack that whole experience into a single...
That’s what I’ve been caught up in this week! I haven’t been this busy in a while. May is a packed month for me. Wallace turns one on Tuesday. We’re celebrating today before my sister moves away in the morning. I don’t think I’ve had time to process both of those things yet, but I...
I’ve followed you for a few months on IG and just clicked over to your blog today. What a lovely place :). Really love your style and use of color.ReplyCancel

Thank you for the cosmetic bag tutorial!! What a great project and I think I may even make one as a Bible cover.

Oh, you are quite welcome! If you give it a go, come on back and let me know!
My lining piece doesn’t fit well in the outer piece. What can I do?

I’m having trouble finding the dimensions for the straps.
Having trouble with directions on step 4. Should it be exterior spine instead of interior? I have read them over and over??
I apologize for the very late reply! The interior and exterior spines are the same. The one referenced in step 4 is the interior spine. :)
Just wondering the dimensions to cut for the straps? I’m making this right now for my son, great pattern!
I believe they are 4″x7.5″ but can be adjusted for larger or smaller hands. I’m just seeing your comment, so I apologize for the delay!!

Do you handstitch the blindstitch in the last step?
Yes. :)
Awesome
Awe how do I download this project?
There’s nothing to download. It’s all right here in the post. :)
Are we permitted to make this project to sell? I mean on a handmade level, for sale at craft fairs, or Etsy.
