Remember this bag? Well I thought it was utterly darling, and I wanted to make Layla one like it. After all, I am the one who ends up toting most of the stuff she absolutely has to take when we go places. And my bag is the one that fills up with her things. It was...
Hi there! Just spotted this bag on flickr and had to check it out! It is SO perfect! That embroidery… I just love it. And I love the combination of all the fabrics. Great job! I look forward to looking through your blog. Looks like it will be a great source of inspiration.
(Just wondering about the bag size. I’d love to make one for my almost four year old. Do you like the bigger size for that age group? Does it seem at all too big? TIA!)
Thank you for your kind words! My daughter just turned four, and while the bag is a little big on her, its the perfect size for coloring books and paper which is why I went with that size over the smaller one. I wanted her to be able to carry things other than toys.
I love your embroidery! What stitch did you use? And is that your HANDWRITING? Gorgeous! :)
Hi Kirsten! Thank you!! For the embroidery I used a stem stitch. I wish the writing was my own, but I didn’t trust myself to write in a straight line, so I typed out Layla’s name in a font called Doris Day, and then traced it onto the bag with a disappearing ink pen (Frixion).
Thanks! I love my Frixion pens. :)
Just spotted this bag in the Flickr group.
love it!
