I wanted to break this post up a bit, but the weather here has been rather dreary so I’ve been unable to get good pictures of my projects throughout the week. So today I’m playing catch up. I do hope you won’t mind!

First, I must show you the new shower curtain that is gracing our guest bathroom. I suppose I don’t have an excuse for not showing you this one sooner since the weather outdoors has no bearing upon the pictures taken in this bathroom. Its the innermost room of our house and zero natural light touches this room. So please excuse the off colored Iphone pics!

I used a gorgeous print from Anna Maria’s Field Study linen collection for the majority of the curtain. The fabrics going down either side is a bright green solid that coordinates with the line.

I used buttonholes for the hanging from hooks. (and yes, those hooks are awful, but I’m making due with what I have).

Isn’t it amazing how such a simple project like curtains can totally liven up a room? I love that!

The next project I want to show you is one that I’m head over heels for. I mean, I’m so thrilled that this piece is gracing our home! What started out as a simple purple lamp that I picked up on clearance at Target is now a gorgeous Tiffany blue lamp with a killer lampshade. Get ready for pictures from every angle!

My dad was so wonderful to paint the lamp base for me! Dad’s are the best- but I know my dad really is.

When I picked up this lamp a few years back, I knew it was destined for more. But it sat and collected dust for a long time. Until I got the urge to give it a makeover after thumbing through one of my all-time favorite crafting books, Handmade Beginnings. I used the pattern pieces from the Daydreams Mobile and Lampshade pattern to cut out shapes from some of my most beloved Anna Maria fabrics. I used Wonder Under to fuse them to the lampshade, and voila! I have a brand new lamp!

This lamp has quickly become one of my favorite handmade items to date. It’s made a beautiful and bright addition to Layla’s room. And I just love that it features many of my most treasured fabrics in bits here and there – all from the wonderful Anna Maria!
