I bought Layla a stroller for her baby doll forever ago at Target. It was only $8 so I didn’t expect the seat it came with to last forever – especially since Layla thought she could use it for herself. It immediately ripped, and though I’ve repaired it many times, it was time for it to go. So I used that old seat as a pattern piece to make a new one. I had Layla pick out the fabric, and this is what we ended up with.
You can see that Layla’s doll is filthy loved. She takes this baby [Lola] everywhere, and though she is a very caring mommy, she does like to color on and play rough with her.
The main fabric I used for the seat is from Amy Butler’s Love collection, and I think the gingham fabric I used for the binding is a Micheal Miller print.
She loves it, and I’m happy that this one will last much longer than the one the stoller came with.
My next project was for me. I wanted to make myself a cover for my Bible. So I gathered small scraps of Anna Maria Horner fabric along with just a couple of Liberty scraps and went to work. I worked with really tiny pieces. The muslin in between all of those 1.25″ squares is only 1/4″.
I lined the cover with a muslin interior because I wanted a cover that will really hold up well to wear and tear- not that I’m rough on my Bible. I just wanted it to be sturdy.
I love it! It was a fun project, for sure! Now I’m off to tackle some household chores and spend some time with the man of the house.
Have a wonderful day!
