Enjoying every minute.

I’m really having a great week. I haven’t loved everything about the week, but I have to tell you I started this week with a great attitude and a determination to get things done and that is just what has happened. I finished four projects on Monday, worked on Tuesday, and today I’ve finished up two. It feels so good to be productive!

First up, I tackled a project I had been keeping on the bottom of my To Do list. I really dreaded having to tackle this one. Thankfully, it was pretty pain-free thanks to my understanding and helpful husband. You may remember back when I made this from this post.

Well understand that I have a two year old and a man-child for a husband (he’s a lot of fun- and manly, so that’s not really supposed to be an insult). So those poufs have really taken a beating. Layla ripped off the buttons, and Justin thought it would be a blast to jump on one which completely ripped out the tuft. I had been procrastinating (with every bit of will power I possess) fixing them because I did not want to have to deal with those darn beads. There are sooooooooooo many polystyrene beads in these. I used twice the amount the pattern called for and they could still use more.

Anyway, Justin helped me take them out and put them back in when I repaired the tufts and sewed on the buttons. I’m happy to say that my sanity is still intact, and so are the poufs. Hopefully they will remain in that condition for a very long time. Ground rules have been laid, so pray they are followed. :D

For my other project, I want to show you this fabulous hanging book sleeve I made. I very loosely followed this tutorial. I did not attach the sleeves to the rod the same way as described in the tutorial. I wanted all of my seams to be on the inside, and I was afraid there was a greater chance of it falling apart with the other method. And please do excuse this awful green wall. I would never choose that color, but we live in a rental and are not allowed to paint.

I just want to tell you something. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find a double rod bracket? Its pretty much next to impossible here. Home Depot did not have anything, nor did Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Thank God Lowes had what I needed or I was about to go crazy. This is kind of basic hardware, and the super-giant hardware retailer I visited first did not have it. SIGH. I do have what I need now, and I’m very happy with it.

I used a great basic fabric from Anna Maria’s home decor line, Drawing Room. I love it, and I think it coordinates nicely with Little Folks.
