So I totally have this song going through my head now that my Spinning Stars quilt is now complete. As dramatic as it sounds, I really feel like I am triumphant in a big way. Its taken about three months to make this quilt from start to finish. Its a queen size, finishing out at...
oh. my. word. You SHOULD be really proud! I cannot believe all the handwork you did on this… I’m so not patient enough for that, but the beauty of yours is really inspiring enough to try! That is my favorite AMH line ever, and the solids you chose with it are fantastic. BRAVO and CONGRATS!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’m so in love with this quilt. It was a ton of work, and I just want you to know that if you are not a patient person, you should really give handquilting a go. I’m the most impatient person I know, and its incredible the patience that handquilting has taught me. Now I’m addicted!
LOVE it!!! The colors, the movement, the quilting, and the binding are perfect. What an inspiration! Time for me to try that pattern. :)
Thanks, Rose. I would definitely recommend this pattern. This is the second Spinning Stars Quilt I’ve made, and its just such a simple pattern with a million possibilities.
Stunning!!! Love the saturated colors and hand quilting.
Thank you so much, Claudia!
this quilt is amazing- so beautiful. i love how you used the same print in light/dark colorways for the ‘star’ parts.
i found you in the flickr group- i have the fabrics in all th warm red/brown colors and am looking for solids to use in the sashing- can you tell me what solids you used ?
thanks, and congratulations- you hand quilted it!!!!

I can’t remember what exactly the colors are I used for the solids, but I believe they are Free Spirit voile solids in Cherry and Plum. I am fairly certain on those, but again, not 100% positive. Thank you so much for the kind words!
Wow! You’ve totally sold me on that pattern, I need to start one right now. Screw the 8 or so other things I have going!
Do it!!!!
This is just gorgeous! It is so fun to find others who share my love of AMH and Lotta fabric:) You do such beautiful work, I am starting my first quilt for my son, and hopefully 2 more for my daughters. I am planning on giving the hand quilting a try – I mean, its just for fun! Thanks for sharing your works.
