I can see the finish line

I’m so close to finishing my Spinning Stars Quilt! I’ve gone into turbo mode, and between yesterday and today I’ve done more quilting than I can normally do in a week. I wouldn’t have stopped yet, except that I ran out of the lavender Perle cotton I’m quilting the brown stars with. I only have one more to go! I’ll probably do a single row of stitching to line the inside of each of the octogons, but that should be quick work.

After that, its on to binding! I plan to be sleeping under my dream quilt by this time next week. I’m so excited!!!!

This quilt is gorgeous and already has the most beautiful drape. When its all finished, I’ll have Emilee take some good pictures of it. I have the hardest time photographing something that is saturated with this much red. I’m sure she will do a wonderful job- she always does.

It feels so good to be this close to the end of a beloved project. Its been more than two months in the making, and in a week I’ll have nothing left to do but to enjoy it. Feels good. While I wait for Monday to roll around to get some more Perle cotton, I’ll probably go ahead and prepare the binding on this wet, rainy evening. I love sewing….

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
