This month’s Bee Connected block is all about stars. Wonky stars, that is. I thought, “Wow, this is going to be so quick, easy, and fun.” But I think this was the hardest Bee project for me yet! I’ve never made stars, and I’ve never made anything purposely wonky. So I had to look up a tutorial on how to make stars. Adding the wonk was a little difficult, but after messing up once, I caught on. She asked for wonky and I made them wonky! At one point while I was making them, Justin looked at me with an questioning face and said maybe I should send her a picture because he thought they looked all wrong! I made two stars and now that I know what I’m doing, I’m even thinking of making a third, really tiny one! Here are the two I’ve made:
Even though I had difficulty getting right into this project, I really enjoyed it. The best part was learning a new technique (or lack thereof) that I hadn’t tried before. While wonky is certainly not my taste, I am happy to now know how to make sawtooth stars.
The colors Megan chose for this month were just wonderful and since she had no size specifications, it will be interesting to see how this quilt comes together. I’m really excited to see the finished product!
What are your creative plans for the week?
