Then and Now

Here’s a look at Layla’s current window situation.

Yes, that is a shower curtain. And yes, that is a fleece Christmas blanket.

And yes, my head in hanging in shame.

But what do you think of these? I still need to get a nice heavy white fabric to back these as I am not a fan of sheer curtains, especially in a child’s room. This is 2012 and its not a safe world out there, so the shower curtain and blanket will be going up one more time until I can get a heavy backing fabric. And then, Layla’s room will be quite cute adorned with these curtains!

I decided just to use one main fabric bordered with this Pastry line print. I thought of using all of the fabrics I ordered and then doing a little patchwork piecing, but I really didn’t like the thought of seeing all the seams and seam allowances during the daytime when the sun would shine through. Also, sorry for the cruddy picture. Its really difficult to get a good picture of closed curtains in the middle of the day!

Enjoy your Friday night! I’ve gotta go eat some BBQ chicken and watch a kid movie with my man.
