My Swoon quilt is pieced together.
You may need to take a moment to soak that in. I know I do. I was beginning to think it would never get finished!
I added the sashing on Thursday and Friday and now its ready to be sent off to the quilter. This is something I swore up and down I would never do, but I have a ton on my plate and if I ever want to see this quilt completed, this is the way I have to go to see it finished. I’m uber nervous about it. But I know she knows what she’s doing, plus I’ve seen the pattern already done on a Swoon quilt so I know it will look good.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am. I’ve gone out of my comfort zone in several ways in the making of this quilt, and I’m totally happy with it. I’ve used a white background which is something I typically stay far away from. Also, I sent out fabric (Echo) that I valued very highly to people all across the world and all but two blocks managed to survive (and my friend came to my aid on those two blocks). Lastly, I am sending this out to a quilter! I feel so rebellious. Though these are things I’m not likely to repeat anytime soon, I’m so glad I made these exceptions.
And hopefully I’ll have a fully completed Swoon to reveal to you in a couple of weeks!
Have an awesome weekend!
-Meredith
So beautiful – really love it in the Echo!
I’m so proud to be part of this wonderful quilt!
love it. Makes me wish I had chosen this fabric for my swoon quilt…
woohoo! It looks fantastic, can’t wait to see how she quilts it. And there is no shame in sending something this big out to a quilter!
love it :) and yes, you are such a rebel ;)
Do you have this laying on a full size bed or queen? I am getting ready to make my mom a swoon quilt for her bed and I am just looking for a visual, although I have done all the math to make it come out the size she wants. I will be adding an extra row of swoon blocks, just as you did here. I really like the way yours turned out!
This is a queen size bed. Our bed is high up, so it may have looked better with sixteen blocks. But we just have the twelve so it will have to work! :D
