Stitch by Stitch

My Spinning Stars quilt is coming together slowly, stitch by stitch. I’m so excited to finish it so I can put it on the bed (and can then begin the host of other [big] projects I have planned for the year). I probably would have already completed it had I not taken a two week break to work on some other projects. But I think that’s necessary sometimes when you are working on a big project. You just need to take a break and get your mojo back so you can work on it happily and enjoy what you’re doing. I think its very important to love what you do, especially when its something you’ve chosen for yourself. You don’t always get that option in life, but I think with sewing and quilting you have more of a choice. Plus, I do better work when I enjoy what I’m doing- hence the break from quilting.

I’m back at it today, and I hope to make a good dent in it this week. Before too long, I’ll have a finished quilt to unveil. Every one of those stitches will be worth it and I know I’ll treasure this quilt forever.
