Yes, yes. I was supposed to be making loads upon loads of progress on the Genevieve Quilt. I told you I would just be sitting and stitching all day long.

But that’s not exactly what happened. You see, I had to return something to my dad, and once I was out I thought I should go check out a quilt shop in town where a  friend of mine works. Obviously the thought of going to a quilt shop deterred me from my original plans today. Tell me you wouldn’t have done the same….

The shop is an adorable little fabric and quilting store called Quilts’n’More.  You don’t just walk into a big store with a bunch of aisles. No, this place has a lot more personality than that. Quilts’n’More is comprised of four rooms of fabric, quilting tables, Janome machines, thread, patterns, and other notions. There are quilts all over the walls to lend some inspiration to shoppers, and the customer service is wonderful. They also have a wonderful sale selection.

I realize this probably goes without saying, but of course I bought fabric! Quilts’n’More has a wonderful selection of Moda, along with some Kaffe Fasset, Robert Kaufman, and other great designers. While I was there, I picked up some very cute Moda fabric, and a little Amy Butler.

But the day is not over yet. Dinner is on the stove, and the Genevieve quilt is still waiting to be finished. So as we sit down for a movie, or perhaps a few episodes of Monk, I will have my quilt, hoop, floss, and needle, and I will be stitching away.
