Today I’m working on finishing up the Nigella quilt. I’m excited about it. I love the fabric so much. Its a home decor weight cotton, but its super soft. So its perfect to cuddle your little one, yet durable enough for them to drag around and play on. I look forward to crafting much more with this line.
My sister came over to help with baby duty, and I tried to teach her some of the basic ropes of quilting. Its so exciting. She reminds me of me. I always loved learning new crafty things when I was younger…and, well, I still do. Plus, quilting is something you can do forever. The youngest to the oldest can enjoy it. I think that’s what makes it so special. Every quilt is unique, and so is each person’s perception of it. Its a work of art. While one person may look at a quilt and say its plain, another will look at it and enjoy the simplicity of it, that’s its not overwhelming and busy. Others much prefer intricate designs, complicated piecing, and very detailed quilting, so they can see the picture while looking at the overall quilt, but they can also enjoy the picture made by the quilting.
I’m not sure if that made any sense whatsoever. If not, disregard it, I’m blaming my allergies.
Here’s a preview of the quilt:
The quilt is coming along really good. It was fun watching you! I did learn alot I didn’t know (Not that I really knew anything!). Hope to learn more, though!!! :)
