Layla Grace is transforming into quite the talkative little girl. She can say over fifty words. Most children her age (16 months) say fifteen at the most. Yes, I am bragging. I adore my baby girl. Its amazing how once babies turn into toddlers, their lives move faster and faster everyday. They are growing intellectually at alarming rates. She’s always called me “mom” or occassionally “mama”. I guess I’ve always called myself “mama” because that’s what I call my mom. But the day before yesterday, she just walked up to me and said “mommeeeeee” with great exaggeration on the “eeeee”. I could have melted. Out of nowhere she’s saying “eeeee” on the end of words where it belongs. She’s always called Abigail “Abba”, but now its “Abby”; likewise, Emilee who was referred to as “Emma” is now “Emeee”. So you see, progress is being made.
The other thing that really has everyone wrapped around her chubby wittle fingers is that she will kiss someone, let’s say me, and then she says “awww”. She’s even learned that she can use this to manipulate in certain situation.
Example:
Me: “Layla, we don’t climb on chairs”
Layla: Goes up to Mom(eeeee) and kisses wherever she can reach and says, “Awwww”.
Who can stay serious at that point? Given, I do not let her climb on chairs because of the countless times she has done so and bonked her head on the floor, but it sure does take the stern edge out of my voice, because I then hug her very tightly and smother her with kisses.
I have the smartest, most beautiful little girl. I love her to pieces and I thank God for her every moment. Motherhood rocks.
Here’s the little diva now:
Oh and that red little tongue? V8….yep. And thank you, Aunt Emilee, for the picture.
Enjoy your Wednesday,
xo, Mere aka: Mommeeeeeee
