Before Teddy joined us, I was trying to keep myself occupied with projects so I wasn’t just sitting and waiting for labor to happen. I ordered some goodies from Duckadilly that came just a couple of days before he was born, so k haven’t had the chance to use them quite yet. But I thought I would share some plans here in hopes that will give me a shove to follow through on a reasonable amount of time. Also- it’s an excuse to enjoy some Liberty eye candy soooo why not?!
The top back print will be backing for a quilt I need to finish up. The next print, Thorpe, was utterly irresistible in this color way! I am imagining it paired with a gorgeous leather, most likely in bag form.
The next print down, called Fornasetti Forest, will become a romper for Layla that I’m hoping to give her on her birthday next week. I’m considering the pairing it with some of this railroad denim. I love the bold colors and large scale of the print and I think Layla’s big personality is the perfect match!
The airplane print is called Tom’s Jets. I have wanted this print for such a very long time. I spent many hours searching the Internet for even a small cut of it when I was pregnant with Wallace in hopes that I could use it in a quilt for him. I had no luck and finally gave up on ever owning any of it. When I stumbled across the print on Duckadilly I had to have some! It was simply meant to be. So I got enough to to make something for both of my boys. I’m thinking matching Sketchbook Shirts?
The rest of the prints in the front are fat quarter cuts and most of them are destined to become elements of Theodore’s sixteen patch quilt. All of these gorgeous cuts are from The Artist or Contemporary Classics collections. I love the conversational and whimsical nature of the new Liberty!
Duckadilly just stocked up their sale section! Go check out all the gorgeous prints. Everything else is 10% off through tomorrow night (2/27) with code diaryofaquilter. Consider yourself enabled to go nuts. :)
