I’m telling you, Oliver + S is one of my most favorite companies! I really adore Liesl’s patterns! My latest from her is her Family Reunion pattern in the blouse version. I’m all about making dresses for my Munchkin, but lately something about making Layla some awesome shirts has really taken me. They require so little fabric, and one can easily finish a few in one day. I wish it were so easy to expand my wardrobe!
So here we have Miss Layla in her brand new stylin Family Reunion Blouse.
I used some of Liberty’s Bloomsbury Gardens to make this top. Every time I see something Liberty, I just love it more and more.
I could go on and on about the wearability of the fabric itself. Its so light yet durable, I can’t imagine it being any more ideal for garment sewing!
Layla is totally killing me in the wardrobe department. Her clothes are awesome. If only I didn’t have curves of any kind and was so easy to outfit. (Note: if you happen to know of any amazing clothing pattern lines for ladies that are well written and accurate and modern, I would love to know!)
Anyway, I know I’m always giving props to Liesl Gibson for her clothing patterns, but I’ll say it again anyway. I love her. I will be buying her patterns as long as I have children who will wear handmade clothing. Even then I might just feed my need to make clothing by gifting clothing to other children. (A hint to my sisters: Feel free to get hitched and make babies right away!)
I’ll be back tomorrow, Lord willing, with an awesome pair of skinny jeans to show you. I can’t wait!
