I’ve decided its time to embark on a new project for the shop. I’ve gotten my plans all drawn up (as I must do everytime I begin a new project) and I’ve started cutting. This is only the beginning, though, as I have to cut cut cut. I have cut my fabrics into strips. I’m currently working on cutting those strips into squares. And next I will be cutting the squares into triangles. Its quite a process, but I’m avoiding self defeat by taking the cutting in doses. Its a great thing to do at night when I’m watching tv with Justin.
The fabric is from Amy Butler’s Midwest Modern line. I picked up some fat quarters from my local quilt shop well over a year ago, and have been saving them for just the right project. I think I’ve found it, and I’m excited to get to the sewing phase so I can show you where this whole thing is going! I can tell you this: it will be very modern, fresh, simple, and feminine!
Before I sign off, I want to know: what do you do with your selvages? I used to throw all of mine away up until two months ago when I saw people using them for various projects. This is my growing jar, and I’m waiting for just the right inspiration to come my way before digging in.
That’s all for now. I have to go fulfill Justin’s grocery list!
