Today I’ve been brushing up on my baking skills.
Yep, these are delicious, especially when your sandwich cream cheese icing in between two of these cookies. mmm… What are they, you ask? Well, these pretty little cookies are red velvet cookies sprinkled with a little sugar. Oh and my wing-it skills are just spectacular. See that granulated sugar? It was actually supposed to be confectioner’s sugar. Whammy. I’m gonna have my own show on Food Network anytime now.
On an equally delicious note, look what came yesterday.
After waiting at the window for what seemed like all day, it finally arrived. I hate waiting. I am the single most impatient person ever. But you know what? It was worth the wait. I even think it was well worth the cost of the shipping. Fat Quarter Shop took such care with my order (Hello! Do you see the bagged fabric?), and I now see why everyone raves about them. I will most certainly be a repeat customer.
Those solids, by the way, are going to be used on the coolest quilt ever. Honestly, it is taking every bit of restaint I have not to throw every other thing on my to do list to the wind and get down to making this quilt. Sorry to tell you, though, I can’t let you in on any details yet. I wish I could, and I will probably spill the beans at some point, but that day is not today.
And I was wanting to save this news, but I’m going to burst if I don’t share it with you. I will be joining eleven talented quilters from around the world for my first ever international quiling bee. I was invited by Cathi of FlowerBirdQuilts, and I’m so excited to get to know all of these wonderful ladies! And yes, I will be posting regular update on blocks as I make them and the finished quilts from all the girls! I hope you enjoy this adventure over the next year as much as I plan to!
