Quick Change Trousers for Baby

I’m finally sewing for Baby! Its hard for me not to have him on my brain constantly these days now that he’s almost constantly kicking or dancing or poking in my belly. While boy sewing doesn’t seem to hold nearly the variety of girl sewing, nor does most of it seem as exciting, I’ve known Baby would need some Quick Change Trousers. That’s one pattern I’ve been quite excited about because you can so easily make a ton of them and have quite an assortment of baby bottoms. I made two pairs to begin with in the 0-3 month size. They seem a little big, so I’m hoping he will get to wear them for even longer!

The orange/blue pair is made with my favorite Kaufman chambray and an adorable print from Birch Organics. So manly!

I’m having a hard time handling it. They are so stinking cute! And they’re reversible. Who wouldn’t want reversible pants?

The navy/red pair is made with two fabrics from Take A Hike. I purchased this fabric before I was pregnant, thinking it would make an adorable outdoorsy dress for my outdoorsy big girl. I never used it for that, and now I think I couldn’t have loved these prints more as anything other than these little pants.

I love that the prints I was able to find are boyish but not cheesy. Do you find it difficult to find suitable “boy” fabrics? I guess it just seems like there are more “sophisticated” prints to choose from for girls. I’m not one to go for novelty, so I’ll just have to keep an eye out for good prints!

I’m going to be trying out another baby pants pattern soon, so I can’t wait to share those with you! Come back tomorrow to see Baby’s first toy!
