Who’s ready to start the week with a brand new, bonus tutorial for the Beginner Quilt Series? That’s right! Monday’s looking up because I’m going to show you how to hand quilt like a pro!
Super! You know….I wish I had a tutorial like this available when I first started quilting (back in 2010)…I may have been brave enough to make quilts faster! (I always postponed parts of the quilt making process for fear of messing up and not be sure of what I was doing)….so, my first quilt took me 3 years! Now…you have me inspired to make a quilt like you have pictured here…happy florals with black hand quilted stitches! Thank you!ReplyCancel

Wow! I just came across your IG. Thank you so much for sharing your skills in such detail! I can hardly wait to try this. I’ll start on something small
Again……… thank you ReplyCancel
The final quilt will be about 40” square, and we will be doing it every Friday over the course of 4-5 weeks so everyone can learn at their own pace. ReplyCancel

Oooh I’m looking forward to this! I have made exactly 1 quilt – a whole cloth quilt. It was great to learn basics but putting pieces together is a mystery to me! I have scraps, but I don’t really know what to do with them. Most of the quilt instructions I see assume you know what you are doing…and I don’t!ReplyCancel
Oh my gosh what a beautiful story. I hope you print this off and tuck it away someplace for your children and grandchildren can read over and over. All that happens just goes to shape us into who we are as we grow and move to what we can become.ReplyCancel

i too have wonderful memories of my grandmother’s christmas oddities. I now am obsessed with tinsel/evergleam christmas trees! and rotating tree bases! love the vintage look of this quilt. I too have garland just sitting waiting and perhaps this is the perfect solution for me too! sometimes fabric just begs to be made into patchwork. Merry Christmas!ReplyCancel
