Swooning. Hard.

My Swoon quilt is pieced together.

You may need to take a moment to soak that in. I know I do. I was beginning to think it would never get finished!

I added the sashing on Thursday and Friday and now its ready to be sent off to the quilter. This is something I swore up and down I would never do, but I have a ton on my plate and if I ever want to see this quilt completed, this is the way I have to go to see it finished. I’m uber nervous about it. But I know she knows what she’s doing, plus I’ve seen the pattern already done on a Swoon quilt so I know it will look good.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am. I’ve gone out of my comfort zone in several ways in the making of this quilt, and I’m totally happy with it. I’ve used a white background which is something I typically stay far away from. Also, I sent out fabric (Echo) that I valued very highly to people all across the world and all but two blocks managed to survive (and my friend came to my aid on those two blocks). Lastly, I am sending this out to a quilter! I feel so rebellious. Though these are things I’m not likely to repeat anytime soon, I’m so glad I made these exceptions.

And hopefully I’ll have a fully completed Swoon to reveal to you in a couple of weeks!

Have an awesome weekend!
