Pleasant Pathways Shorts : Revisited

I told you it wouldn’t be long before I made more of Anna Maria’s Pleasant Pathways Shorts. I had to make these longer, and I’m in love with the result.

After adjusting the pattern to add 2.5″ length, I used only the main shorts pattern pieces to cut a main fabric (the chambray) and the lining fabric (Free Spirit solid voile in sun). From there, I followed the directions applying what I did to the outer fabric to the lining as well.

Once I got to the zipper installation, I sewed it onto the outer fabric, and waited until the shorts (outer + lining) were sewn together everywhere else, I used a blindstitch to attach the lining to the zipper tape.

To sew the lining and outer fabrics together, I kept right sides together to sew the waistband together. After turning right side out and pressing well, I hemmed the bottoms together using a 1″ hem.

I think my little modifications make these shorts a perfect fit for me. I love how quickly they came together! I’m making three more pairs tonight. :D

Thanks so much for dropping in, and do come back next week for more garment sewing, another stop on the Alison Glass blog tour, and more!
