Just a few things…

Have you seen the new collections from Cotton + Steel? It seems to be all anyone is talking about lately, and rightly so! I was so thrilled when Emily listed some bundles she picked up from Quilt Market because it gave me a chance to get my hands on it a little early. Each of the collections are so vibrant and beautiful, but Hatbox by Alexia Abegg is my very favorite!

I do love the colors in the line. I’m torn at the moment because I so badly want to cut into this bundle, but the basics that are coming out look so great, I don’t know if I should wait for those.

I do love the tiger prints!

While they were not included in this bundle of quilting cottons, Hatbox also has some linen and lawn prints. I cannot wait for those! I need some new nursing friendly dresses, so that lawn is calling my name. (and just to throw this out there, if you know of any good nursing friendly patterns, feel free to share those with me! I’m on the hunt.)

Before I let you go, I have to show you this cute little hat I made for Wallace from Little Things to Sew.

Its so bright here and he needed a hat. Of course, because it was a need, I couldn’t find one at Target, so I made this one. I cut out a size XS from the pattern, but I measured his head which was only 15″ (if I remember correctly), so I took a full inch off of the pattern pieces to get the hat this size. Its still a little big for him, which is why I don’t have him modeling it, but it works for covering his head from the house to the car, and it’ll fit him in no time, I’m sure.

My sister is teaching me how to crochet, so hopefully one day this week, I’ll get to show you a project that incorporates some crochet! I’m excited to learn something new.
