Welcome to the Feather Quilt portion of the Alison Glass Blog Tour! Today I want to show you a project I made using Alison’s fabulous new Feathers Quilt pattern, the brainchild of Alison and Nydia (The ADD Crafter).
The pattern is so, so awesome. Its a paper piecing pattern, which if you are anything like me, means its a take-your-time pattern. But it is amazing. There are a bajillion possibilities with this one. I kept things simple and made up a couple of potholders.

Of course I incorporated scraps of Robert Kaufman chambray and Anna Maria’s Field Study linen.

Is it not apparent to you why I do not like machine quilting? I’m awful at it. And its even more difficult to do with a layer of insulbrite + two layers of warm and natural cotton batting. What? I don’t want to get burned!

I can look past the quilting and just enjoy the pattern. It really is amazing, and I can’t wait to start making a full quilt with it!

I think I would use the pattern on a pillow or purse and then a quilt. It’s beautiful!

i’d try a pillow first, but the full quilt pattern is so lovely! the potholders rock!!

Love your potholders! I tried the triple layer deal like you once and found it difficult to quilt. I think one insulbrite and one warm and natural is sufficient. Would love to be a winner :)
I think I would start off small like you did and make potholders and a matching linen tea towel with feathers down the middle. I really like the quilt too!
I would make a handbag for sure. Your potholders turned out so cute, but I know what you mean about quilting when it is so darn thick, impossible to keep those straight lines perfect!

I have been looking for a quilt to make for my bed for about six months now, but none have grabbed me quite like this one! I would make a queen size quilt with one OVERSIZED arrow on the back and a few throw pillows like the ones pictures on Alison Glass’s site. Thank you for the chance to win! I love this pattern! Thank you for the chance to win it. I don’t think I would make the whole quilt, but never say never. I would definitely be using it in smaller proportions for pillows, purses and maybe clothing embellishment.
Wow er, I just realized I’m dating somebody who does archery, and for some reason I didnt even think I could somehow translate the fabric into something for him with the pattern (feeling silly) I’m making him a pillow with Moda’s Lush Uptown Deer in the woods paint by number fabric, and I think there will have to be a quill on the back!
The quilt would be fabulous, but I’m thinking that my living room couch pillows need an update!

Cute pot holders! I am shy about using blue, but you pulled it off very well! I would love to make the quilt.
I’d love to make the quilt, but I can see myself using the pattern to make a tote bag and zipper pouches.
I’m not a quilter, but this quilt actually inspires me to make one. I love the retro meets modern feel of the pattern, which I can picture in tons of cute quilting prints I’ve seen lately! (Love your lace dress post, too, btw)

I would first make a zip pouch like the one on the blog tour, the pattern really goes with hand stitching.
OMG I love this pattern! I would first make a tote bag as a girl for my my sisters upcoming birthday! I’m sure I would make a quilt once I get some of my other ongoing projects finished.
